Presenters will be aware of the funding arrangements that allows Halton Community Radio to broadcast and indeed exist.
The funding depends on quotas of children and young people that attend the "React " course and the numbers are ever increasing. Consequently more broadcasting slots will have to be made available for these courses and from 10th August 2009 all of the slots between 4pm and 8pm on a weekday will be reserved for the young beneficiaries.
Existing shows may have to be re-arranged and moved back in the schedule or to different days. Presently Pete and myself are working on the new schedule and and presenters will be notified of any changes in due course.

Chris,
Your post states "all of the slots" between 4pm and 8pm, then underneath it says exisitng shows "may have" to be re arranged, can you give us a bit more of an idea as this is going to affect a lot of shows including the Friday Sports Show, which if moved back in time to later on in the evening we would find it not only difficult to attract listeners, it would be impossible to get guests into the studio, especially that late on a Friday night, a contain based show such as ours needs a little bit of leeway with all the work that goes into it every week, to get it to as good as what we want it to be for the people we hope, we have listening in each week.
Regards
Glyn

Thats right Glyn, as stated. The times between 4pm and 8pm every weekday will be reserved for the young persons. In an effort to accommodate everyone, we would like to push shows back up the schedule. If that doesnt suit some presenters then we will try to move them to another slot at another time in the week if it is possible. That is all we can do. The schedule is still being worked on but it seems likely that your show would start at 8pm instead of 7pm.
